OC WordPress General Group Recap – June 24

At the OCWP General Meetup on Monday, Steve Zehngut, CTO of Zeek.com and host of this Meetup, discussed a recent case where one of his high-traffic sites was attacked with malware and Sucuri.net saves the day, he also discussed some of the changes in WordPress 3.5.2 and the upcoming 3.6 release, as well as demoing one of his implementations of Advanced Custom Fields using the repeater, options and relationship field types to fine-tune your site and data entry. His business partner at Zeek, Jeff Turner, also put a call out for volunteers who would like to be involved with WP4Good.org, which started here in our OCWP Community, to build websites for non-profits benefitting the community. He asked that all potential volunteers email him directly at jeff(at)zeek.com. Brandon Dove, WP-Core contributor, OC WordCamp Co-organizer, and half of Pixel Jar, went over MemberPress and how to use it along with Stripe as a payment processor to create a membership site. I covered some of the differences between ManageWP.com and InfiniteWP.com, which are both dashboards for administering multiple WordPress websites across different hosting companies. The full meetup was live-streamed and archived above by Jason Tucker

On Tuesday, I was lucky enough to attend their awesome meetup, “Four Ways of Managing Multiple WordPress Sites” in Santa Monica, which was a pretty big meetup with about 70 eager WordPressers. The meetup organizer is Natalie MacLees, who is an awesome speaker/trainer, and happens to have the same radical pink WordPress iPhone case as me. 🙂 Below are the four different ways to manage multiple WordPress sites: Continue reading Managing Multiple WordPress Sites at SoCal Meetup
